Band's Influences
The Beach Boys,Love,Doors,Beatles,Stones,Dylan,Van Dyke Parks,Monkees,Stevie Kalinich,Darryl Read,Nuggets!...in fact anything that crawled out of the primordial gutter that was post Elvis rock and roll until it sunk below the precipice with the advent of synths and drum machines...simply cos I am too old to understand how to use them...
About The Band
James Alexander Crowther[Major External Screwhead] [anagrams anonymous]Francis Greene, keyboard player of some Genius...often assisted by ex Charisma God and composer of Spanish Wine Chris White, who along with the Venton Brothers [Graham and the much missed Bruce]and his brother Nick formed the Surfonics with me back in the last Millenium...Julia Johnston,my Yoko...anyone who pops into the Wood Street kitchen on the day...we started off as a joke after it was suggested someone write a Dennis Wilson song for the Dennis Tribute Day that BBB were holding,as we both attended the same folk club we agreed to do it..the song was used despite being under recorded flushed with confidence we wrote a Brian tribute that was suffled up,[again before being over dubbed] as the lead track on an internet album [Trace of Genius] since then we have co written hundreds of songs most never getting to demo stage ,a few recieving basic demos and fewer still getting overdubs, music from little pink was an amalgum of three unlinked rock operas that we got bored of,one bringing peter pan into the 21st century,a second a re working of moby dick and a third a depiction of the american deep south as the civil war broke out...coming back from jersey boys i wrote a complete story that brought the three elements together, narrated the links and using the pre recorded songs created a 65 min epic full of lost boys and exploding whales...no one ever heard it but i may upload bits if anyone expreses an interest.......both the surfonics and screwheads albums are free downloads on my facebook page, huge thanks to Sparky and Lord Snooty for suggesting I add a few tunes here.
The Surfonics and Major Screwheads Rubber Band have myspace pages, both my top friends on my myspace page..the Screwheads page is suitably psychedelic and includes lyrics and versions not found on the final cd.

Still overwhelmed by my Snootyfied Legacy of Father Stan...so close to tears that only the agonised lump in the throat took my mind of the overwhelmin elation..Lord Snooty forever in your debt.
